Automated moderation
Automated systems may review posts, comments and media for spam, harassment, harmful material and other possible rule violations.
Privacy is part of how bks.social is designed. We collect and use information to operate the community, personalize book discovery and help protect members from abuse.
This page explains those practices in ordinary language so you can understand how advertising, direct messages, discovery, followers, content and safety work on bks.social.

bks.social
You choose what you share. Public activity helps books and conversations become discoverable. Private account information and private messages are not displayed publicly.
You control much of what you share through your bks.social account.
You choose the information placed on your profile, the books added to your library, the people you follow and the posts, reviews, ratings, comments and discussions you publish.
Advertising and promoted books may help support bks.social and help indie authors reach readers who may be interested in their work.
Ads or promoted books may be selected using information such as books you have interacted with, genres you appear to enjoy, public reading activity and general interests developed through your use of bks.social.
Direct messages are intended for private conversations between the people participating in them. They are not published as public posts or displayed on public profiles.
bks.social may process message information when necessary to deliver messages, operate the service, investigate a report, prevent spam or scams, enforce platform rules or protect members and the platform.
Members should still use care when sharing personal information. A message recipient can copy, save or share information they receive outside of bks.social.
G-NRIS™ is the book, reader and content intelligence system behind personalized discovery on bks.social.
It may use activity such as books added to your library, ratings, published reviews, public posts, book interactions, follows, discovery events and reading interests to identify useful relationships among readers, books, creators and literary concepts.
This helps bks.social recommend books, discussions, creators and other readers whose interests may connect with yours.
Following another member makes that member's public activity easier to find in your bks.social experience.
Your followers may see profile information, posts, reviews, ratings, discussions and reading updates that you have made public.
Following someone does not provide access to their password, private account settings, private reading sessions or direct messages.
You retain ownership of the original content you create and upload, subject to the rights and responsibilities described in the bks.social Terms of Service.
By publishing content, you allow bks.social to store, process and display it as needed to operate the platform and make the content available to the audiences you selected.
Content can include:
Public content may be indexed, shared or quoted by other people. Removing content from bks.social may not remove copies that were previously saved or shared elsewhere.
bks.social uses technical tools, platform rules and human review to help create a safer environment for readers, creators and authors.
Automated systems may review posts, comments and media for spam, harassment, harmful material and other possible rule violations.
Content that requires additional evaluation may be reviewed by an authorized moderator before or after it appears publicly.
Reports and moderation records may be used to investigate abuse and take action against content or accounts that violate platform rules.
Members can identify minor or full spoilers so sensitive book details remain hidden until a reader chooses to reveal them.
Activity may be analyzed to detect automated abuse, unwanted promotion, deceptive links, account misuse and suspicious behavior.
Uploaded media may be temporarily processed, restricted or quarantined when a safety review is required.
No moderation system is perfect. bks.social may update its tools and procedures as the community grows and new safety risks emerge.
bks.social and BookPromotion.io use a shared account system operated by Py-Core LLC. If you choose to create an account or sign in with Google, Google provides the basic account information you authorize us to receive.
That information may include:
We use this information to create, identify, secure and maintain your account; sign you in; display profile information you choose to use; and connect your access across bks.social and BookPromotion.io.
Because bks.social and BookPromotion.io share an account system, the same email address and Google account identifier may be associated with your account on both services. Information is used across the services only where reasonably necessary to provide their connected account and profile features.
We do not sell Google user data. We do not use Google Sign-In data for advertising, and we do not share it except with service providers acting on our behalf, when necessary to operate or secure the services, or when required by law.
You can revoke access through your Google Account permissions . Revoking Google access prevents future sign-ins through Google, but it does not automatically delete information already stored in your bks.social or BookPromotion.io account.
To request account deletion or assistance establishing another available sign-in method, contact bks.social support .
bks.social uses security controls intended to protect accounts, sessions and stored information from unauthorized access.

bks.social may update this page as the platform, its features or its privacy practices change.
When an important change affects how member information is handled, bks.social may provide additional notice through the platform or another appropriate communication method.
Contact bks.social support if you have questions about your information, account privacy or the way a platform feature works.
