Child of God
Lester Ballard is a man being systematically erased by the world around him. Cast out to the freezing margins of Appalachian Tennessee, he watches his ties to humanity unravel as he is stripped of his home and completely abandoned by civil society.
Driven into the isolation of the woods, his existence becomes a desperate, solitary struggle for survival. Through his eyes, the world is a hostile, lonely expanse where the laws of man no longer apply. This allows his mind and actions to drift into a lawless, unsettling territory of his own making.
