The WASP FACTORY

The polarizing literary debut by Scottish author Iain Banks offers a bizarre, imaginative, disturbing, and darkly comic look into the mind of a child psychopath. The narrative centers on sixteen-year-old Frank Cauldhame and his own account of violent acts and inner logic. Frank states that at fourteen he killed Blyth, at fifteen he murdered his young brother Paul for different reasons, and a year later he killed his young cousin Esmerelda, bringing his tally to three. He says he has not killed anyone for years and does not intend to again.
