When Stars Come Out

Anora Silby can see the dead and turn spirits into gold coins, two secrets she keeps while trying to start over at a new school. She changed her identity to avoid attention, but on her first day she claims the soul of a dead girl on campus and loses the coin tied to that spirit. The coin grants others the ability to steal souls, and when a classmate ends up dead it points back to Anora as the murder weapon. She must find who stole the coin while coping with the recent loss of her Poppa, her mother's mistrust, the attention of the enigmatic Shy, and the anonymous gossip app Roundtable. The Order, an organization that governs the dead on Earth, wants Anora and her powers for themselves.
