The Silent Patient

Alicia Berenson is a famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, Gabriel. They live in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in a desirable area of London. One evening Gabriel returns late from a fashion shoot; Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then refuses to speak. Alicia’s silence turns a domestic tragedy into a public mystery and she is moved to the Grove, a secure forensic unit in North London. Theo Faber, a criminal psychotherapist, has long wanted to work with her. His determination to get Alicia to talk and to uncover why she shot her husband draws him into a twisting investigation that threatens to consume him.
