The Last Good Kiss

C. W. Sughrue is a Montana investigator who kills time working at a topless bar. Hired to track down a derelict author, Sughrue's search unexpectedly leads him to a girl who has been missing in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury for a decade. The case drags him out of routine and into a stubborn, dangerous inquiry. The hunt grows obsessive as Sughrue follows tenuous leads, confronts a cast of desperate and damaged people, and moves deeper into the city's underworld. His investigation forces moral compromises and exposes long-buried secrets, turning a routine assignment into a haunting journey through decay and secrecy.
