The Tapestry
Spring 1916 setting in Sheffield Professor Mikkel Jacobsen investigates a tapestry Relic tied to Mary Queen of Scots Romantic complications arise A kidnapped child fuels urgency

In the spring of 1916 archaeology professor Mikkel Jacobsen is surveying the ruins of Sheffield Manor when he is asked to verify a tapestry rumoured to have belonged to the imprisoned Mary Queen of Scots. As head of the new humanities faculty at the university he examines stitching that contains a coded message from Mary’s grandmother, Antoinette de Bourbon, which hints at the whereabouts of a 3000-year-old Biblical relic.

The relic is presented as having an appointment with the future and, in the wrong hands, the capacity to bring death and destruction. Professor Jacobsen and his friends join a dangerous race to find and protect the relic from malevolent forces, while a kidnapped child and romantic entanglements complicate their mission.

In spring 1916 archaeology professor Mikkel Jacobsen deciphers a coded Mary Queen of Scots tapestry that hints at a 3000-year-old relic's location.

Reader guide

What to Know Before Reading Stones of Wrath

A historical mystery that begins with an academic excavation and a coded tapestry linked to Mary Queen of Scots. Much of the setup centers on Mikkel Jacobsen, his colleagues, a kidnapped child, and a race to find and protect a Biblical relic. The relic's ancient origin and the threat it poses suggest speculative stakes tied to history rather than overt supernatural spectacle. This setup emphasizes people in conflict and urgent events across historical and contemporary settings.
