Remarkably Bright Creatures

After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she takes a night-shift job at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and keeping busy to cope with grief. She has carried the mystery of her eighteen-year-old son Erik’s disappearance on a boat in Puget Sound for more than thirty years, a loss that shapes her quiet routine and solitude. At the aquarium Tova becomes acquainted with Marcellus, a curmudgeonly giant Pacific octopus who unexpectedly forms a friendship with her. Marcellus deduces what happened the night Erik vanished and must use every trick his invertebrate body can muster to unearth the truth for Tova before it is too late.
